SSHFS on Mac

I have recently reformatted my machine and it turns out that the truly flakey MacPorts has let me down with sshfs. Having tried to install it this morning I have a revised method for getting it to work.

  1. Google SSHFS for Mac (yes really)
  2. Go to the official website for the sofware and download the stable versions of both fuse and sshfs
  3. Install fuse, then sshfs as you would any other package
  4. There is no step 4

The one difference between sshfs for Mac and Linux is the unmount command. In Linux you would use fusermount -u MOUNT_POINT, but in OSX you need to use the native umount MOUNT_POINT - that was not immediately obvious.

That is all, just posted to save myself a few minutes next time.
